Left Standing... Chapter 33Julian took a deep, scared breath as he waited for Cooper, his best friend, to show up for a quick jog around the park. He’d called last night, telling him that they would be able to go for a jog, and that Julian had something he wanted to tell Cooper. His friend had said that it was fine, and that he would be there at the usual time. He’d gotten there earlier than was usual, though, sitting on one of the benches near the entrance as he waited for Cooper. Left Standing... Chapter 32There was a small cot in the room Jarren was in under the window. It was hard, like any other hospital guest sitting or laying area should be. The only thing slightly decent in the whole place were the pillows. This is where Detrich laid at this point. He was laying on his side, facing Jarren, with a pillow under his head and another under his stomach to support the baby. Left Standing... Chapter 31New Years came and went, and so did Jarren’s hope of getting back with Detrich. He figured that, because nearly a month had gone by with no contact, he had no chance of being forgiven.Left Standing... Chapter 31
But he had to try. He had to go to see Detrich. He could stand being alone in the house anymore. It was snowing, not too hard, but still enough so that it had the potential of becoming hazardous. Jarren climbed into his car, turned it on and waited for the cab to warm up. He backed out of the driveway and turned left to get to the highway.
